CCC VISION STATEMENT

Jesus went into Galilee, where he preached God’s Good News. “The time promised by God has come at last!” he announced.

The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!” Mark 1:14b-15 (NLT)

Christ’s Community Church (“CCC”) exists to serve the Kingdom of God, which is the saving reign of King Jesus, the Savior.

Matthew 28:18-20 is King Jesus’ “Great Commission,” which reads,

"Jesus came and told his disciples, 'I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.'"

Because the Father and Spirit have granted the Son “all authority in heaven and on earth,” He is King of all creation. Yet, God’s universe has been in open rebellion against their Creator and Ruler since the Garden of Eden (Gen 3). Yet, the Son is committed to crushing any opposition to His rightful reign (1 Cor 15:25-26). Thus, theologian Joseph Morecraft writes, “Christ’s kingdom is a kingdom of conquest.”[1]

The war to retake Christ’s world is a spiritual battle. We serve His Kingdom by carrying out His will, which primarily consists of making “disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.

Obeying Christ’s commands include joining a church as defined by Scripture and then, together,

(1) learning God’s Word (Acts 2:42; 2 Tim 3:16-17, etc.);

(2) praying to and praising God (Acts 2:42-47);

(3) honoring God with our thoughts, speech and actions including caring for our fellow disciples (1 Cor 10:31; Matt 25:40; Gal 6:2, etc.);

(4) sharing the Good News of Salvation through King Jesus (Rom 10:14-17; 2 Cor 5:21 and defined below) and helping those who respond to grow (2 Tim 2:1-2);

and (5) destroying the works of the devil (1 Jn 3:8).

Thus, CCC’s mission is the Great Commission. We carry this out as follows:

Sunday rightarrow StudyrightarrowShare & Serve

First, we gather together on Sunday morning at 10:30 am (and also currently for a more traditional service on Saturday evening at 5 pm) to (1) praise God through Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs (Eph 5:19); (2) take the Lord’s Supper together (Matt 26:26-28) where we examine our relationship with God through the Son and Spirit (1 Cor 11:28) while remembering Christ’s sacrificial death on our behalf (Lk 22:19-20); (3) baptize new believers who make a profession of belief in, trust in, and loyalty to King Jesus (i.e., faith and repentance); (4) study the Bible as the very Word of God (2 Tim 3:16), book-by-book and verse-by-verse.

Second, we encourage every church member to “take the next step” by joining a Bible study and/or small group (which also studies the Bible) to grow in your knowledge of God’s Word and to get know your fellow family members in the Body of Christ.

Third, the next rung on the ladder is to give and serve. A sign of a disciple is a “cheerful giver” (2 Cor 9:7).  We do not pass the plate at CCC because we do not believe in guilt tripping believers to give. Yet, we do challenge every follower of King Jesus to budget giving to the Kingdom of God. We also want every member to discover his or her spiritual gift (and we all have at least one) to serve the Kingdom (1 Cor 12:7).

This all begins with knowing the Gospel or the Good News of Salvation through King Jesus, which is:

First, God is the creator of all that exists (Gen 1-2) and He is perfect (Matt 5:48);

Second, we have all sinned (or rebelled) against this perfect God (Rom 3:23; 1 Jn 1:8, etc.). This rebellion is treason against our Creator and King. The penalty for treason is death but the penalty for treason against a perfect, eternal God is eternal death (Rev 21:8).

Third, the only way to be saved from this rightful punishment is for our sins to be paid for and to be holy. Fortunately, Jesus paid the penalty for the sins of all those who have faith (believe in- and trust in- the King) (see Rom 3:25; Heb 2:17; 1 Jn 2:2, etc.), repent (turn from our rebellion to loyalty to the Savior) and follow Christ. Moreover, those with true faith are mystically united to King Jesus so that His perfect, holy life becomes our own (2 Cor 5:21). There is no other way to salvation (Jn 14:6; Acts 4:12, etc.).

This is the Gospel, which is the center of the Christian faith. CCC encourages all of its members to know the Gospel so well that they can be awakened from a deep sleep and share this Good News!

Again, CCC’s mission is the Great Commission for we strive to serve the Kingdom of God, which is a privilege and in which we should live in gratitude! If you don’t have a Bible based church, please join us for all are welcome.
